The Accidental Homesteader: What I've Learned About Chickens Compost and Creating Home As I sit here, surrounded by the lush greenery of my backyard homestead, I can't help but think about the twists and turns that led me to this place. My husband Roger and I never intended to become homesteaders, let alone accidental ones. But life has a way of surprising us, and sometimes those surprises lead to the most rewarding adventures. Our journey began when we purchased a house in one of the most remote parts of Northern California, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was a decision that would change our lives forever. At first, we were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work required to maintain our new property. The land was covered in thick brambles and weeds, the garden was a barren wasteland, and the chicken coop was a dilapidated mess. But as we dug in, we discovered the beauty of self-sufficiency and the satisfaction of creating something from nothing. We learned to compost, to grow our own food, and to raise our own animals. It wasn't always easy, but it was worth every moment of struggle. One of the biggest lessons I've learned on this journey is the importance of understanding the process of technology evolution. As humans, we often take for granted the technological advancements that make our lives easier, but we must remember that these advancements are the result of countless hours of research, experimentation, and innovation.
The Accidental Homesteader: What I 've arned About Chickens Compost and Creating Home
