The case, Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, involved a Christian baker who refused to create a custom wedding cake for a same-sex couple, citing his religious objections to same-sex marriage. The court found that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission had violated the baker’s rights under the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment by showing hostility towards his religious beliefs and failing to address other instances of alleged discrimination by other bakers.
