The monster, however, becomes a destructive force and wreaks havoc on Victor's life and the lives of those around him. The novel explores themes such as the dangers of playing God, the consequences of scientific discovery, and the nature of humanity and monstrosity. The plot of the book begins with Victor Frankenstein, a young man who is obsessed with the study of natural philosophy and chemistry. He spends years studying and experimenting, determined to create life from dead matter. Finally, he succeeds in creating a monster from body parts he has collected from charnel houses and graveyards. The monster comes to life and Victor is horrified by what he has created. He abandons the monster and flees, leaving it to fend for itself. The monster, who is intelligent and sensitive, is rejected by all of humanity and forced to live in isolation. It seeks out Victor and demands that he create a companion for it, promising to leave him alone if he does so. However, Victor refuses, fearing the consequences of creating more monsters. The monster then vows revenge against Victor and his loved ones. As the story progresses, the monster becomes increasingly violent and destructive, killing Victor's younger brother and several other people close to him.
