The Day the Sun Died: A Gripping Dystopian Tale of Technology Evolution and Human Survival In the small town of Balou nestled deep within the mountains, something strange is happening. It's dusk in early June, and instead of settling down for the night, the residents are out in the streets and fields, carrying on with their daily business as if the sun hadn't set yet. Fourteen-year-old Li Niannian watches in mystification, unsure of what's occurring. However, he soon realizes that the people are dreamwalking, a phenomenon where they continue to function as if the sun were still shining brightly, despite its absence. As more and more individuals succumb to the darkness of night, all hell breaks loose, plunging the town into chaos and despair. Set over the course of one fateful night, The Day the Sun Died presents a stark contrast between the sunny optimism of the "Chinese dream" promoted by President Xi Jinping and the grim reality of life in China today.
